NEWPORT CENTRAL
CATHOLIC CLASS OF 2009 EARNS $5.2 MILLION
IN COLLEGE
SCHOLARSHIPS
The following Newport
Central Catholic 2009 Graduates, 50 percent of the class, earned
over $5.2 million in college scholarships. Of the school’s 110
graduates, 103 plan to continue their education by attending 20
different colleges and universities, and 18 graduates plan to
continue their athletic careers at the college level. Notably, 4
graduates earned Governor Scholar status, 3 graduates earned
Governor School for the Arts status, and 31 graduates are members
of the National Honor Society. Of the graduates, 42 successfully
completed 1 or more Advanced Placement Courses.

year in institutional aid to all incoming students who graduate from a
parochial high school and are unconditionally accepted to TMC. Students who
qualify for this award are guaranteed to receive at least $10,000 per year
