PABO

(Parent, Alumni, and Booster Organization)

The December NCC PABO (Parent, Alumni, Booster Organization) meeting will be held December 14, 2011 at 7:30 PM. It is typically held the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Following tradition of our NCC parent organizations, PABO will be collecting items and monetary donations to benefit a less fortunate family during the holidays. Please consider sending in a cash donation. Checks can be made payable to NCC. This year, we selected/adopted a family from The Garden Shoppe in Covington which is supported by Welcome House of Northern Kentucky.
Cash donations can be sent via the school office through Dec. 9 and marked PABO Adopt a Family.

If you are someone who enjoys shopping, maybe even going out shopping on Black Friday, there is a list of suggested items below. If you choose to shop for something specific, please email Betsy Stegner (one of the parent volunteers) at bstegner@stcatherineofsiena.org. That way there will be no duplicates. Please send the item to school by Friday, December 9th. That will give us time to collect and shop for the items remaining on the list. All checks should be made payable to NCC.

All items will be brought to the December PABO meeting on Wednesday, December 14th so we can wrap them as a group. All are invited to come to the meeting to share in some holiday cheer.

If you have any questions regarding the gifts, please contact Betsy Stegner at bstegner@stcatherineofsiena.org or 859-653-2034.

Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!

July 2011

Dear Parents, Alumni, and Boosters,

Over the last few years we have seen much change in both the NCC Boosters and the NCC Parent Club.  In an effort to make both groups as effective and helpful to NCC as possible, the members have made several attempts to encourage more involvement and gain greater support from their membership.  In all these efforts the two groups have continued to communicate and discuss ways to work together and support NCC in the best possible manner.

In February, the Hall of Fame Committee saw fit to recognize the Original Booster Members.  The event was special and the tribute was encouraging and insightful.  These Original Boosters did whatever the school needed, for whatever cause was in need of their help.  They had no boundaries other than the well being of Newport Catholic High School.  Several of them are still active in many areas of the NCC community life.

Inspired by this spirit and led by our own discussions, the leadership of the Boosters, PAC, and the Administration made a decision to combine the efforts of all those who love NCC into one group.  Starting with the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, all things NCC will be supported and promoted by the Parent, Alumni, and Booster Organization (PABO).

PABO meetings will be held on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month at 7:30 pm.  However, due to the start of school and other conflicts the kickoff meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 24th (the 4th Wed) at 7:30 in the Cafeteria.  We will be recognizing the Regional Champion Baseball Team, the Girls State Champion Track team, our Governor Scholars, the Hilltopper Alumni Drama Group, and other NCC happenings from the summer.  As well, we will be previewing the upcoming school year.  The meetings will be used to inform and organize the entire NCC support community.

Please come and join us as we enter this new era at NCC.  We realize that this will be new to many, but we encourage you to look past being uncomfortable with the changes and join us in looking forward to a very bright future for the students and community of NCC.  See you on August 24th!!!
